URL
The "URL" screen is used only when you need to include an
item that exists on the Internet on a non-Y.E.S.!™
website in your website's entry on a Y.E.S.!™
portal site. By
entering the complete URL of the non-Y.E.S.!™
item, the item, with its' reference website URL, will
be included in the XML file that is utilized by Y.E.S.!™
portals.
When would I need to use
this feature?
One scenario where you might want to use this capability is if you already
have an e-commerce site set up on a third-party website, such as Yahoo
Stores™.
You will
still need to enter you product information for each item in the normal
fashion within the Y.E.S.!™
software, and check the "Show on Web" box on the General tab.
However,
now when a visitor to your Y.E.S.!™
website clicks on an item, instead of purchasing the item through your
Y.E.S.!™
website, the visitor will be able to purchase the item directly from your
third-party website.
The easiest method of entering your third-party website data in the
Y.E.S.!™
software is to utilize the database Y.E.S.!™
Import/Export Wizard.
NOTE:
If you are NOT utilizing a third-party e-commerce website in conjunction
with your Y.E.S.!™
website, you should leave this field blank.
Filling out the "Custom
URL"
field:
Enter the complete URL where a third-party website page for this item
can be found. Include
the full domain name, including the protocol and the file name, in the
"Custom URL" field.
For example:
