Print Item Labels

The Print Item Labels menu is used to print Price and Barcode labels for items which have not been pre-barcoded by the manufacturer.

When you first click on the "Print Item Labels" menu, the "Select Item Labels to Print" screen will appear, as shown below.

The areas of "Select Item Labels to Print" screen are as follows:

Label Type - This is a drop-down listing of all current Avery® labels.  Choose the appropriate Avery® label from this listing for your printer type and desired label size.

Items - This window presents a listing of every item in your Y.E.S.! database.

Labels to be Printed - This window shows every item for which labels have been selected to be printed and the quantity of each item's labels which will be printed.

Add Selected button - Clicking on  this button will transfer each checked item from the "Items" window on the left-hand side of the screen to the "Labels to be Printed" window on the right-hand side of the screen.

Print List button - Click on this button to begin printing your labels.

Cancel Print button - Click on the button to close the "Select Item Labels to Print" screen without printing any labels.

Labels - This area shows the total number of labels that your current selections will print

Sheets Required - This area shows the total number of sheets of labels that your current selections will need

Spare Labels - This area shows the number of unused labels remaining on the currently selected Avery label sheet

Move Down (box) - You may enter a number here to adjust the vertical position of the label printing if your printer does not print the labels completely within the label area.  Enter a negative number to more the printing position upwards. Values entered here will be retained as your label printing position defaults.

Move Left (box) - You may enter a number here to adjust the horizontal position of the label printing if your printer does not print the labels completely within the label area.  Enter a negative number to more the printing position to the right.  Values entered here will be retained as your label printing position defaults.

Show on Label area:

Item Name - Print the Item Name on the label.

Barcode - Print the Barcode on the label.

Item ID - Print the Item ID number on the label. (This number may be used as the Point of Sale to locate an item in the database if the barcode cannot be used.)

Price -Print the bin location on the label.

Bin Location - Print the bin location on the label. (Bin locations are entered on the "Custom" tab of the "Inventory" screen for each item.)

Retain Selection - Check this box to keep you current selections checked in case you want to print another group of these same labels before closing the "Select Item Labels to Print" screen.  If this box is not checked, all selections will be cleared as soon as you click on the "Add Selected" button.

Show Item Quantities - Check this box to show the available quantities of each item in the "Items" list on the left-hand side of the screen.

Select Items to Print

Check each item that you need to print labels for by clicking once in the box to the left of the item name, as shown below.

After you have indicated all of the labels that you want to print, click on the "Add Selected" button.  Each of the items that you had checked on the left-hand side of the screen will be added to the "Labels to be Printed" list on the right-hand side of the screen.

Changing the number of labels to print

Change Quantity of an individual Label: To adjust the quantity of labels of each item to print, double-click on the Quantity (QTY) field on the right-hand side of the screen adjacent to the name of the item. The "Change Qty" dialog shown below will appear.  In the "Change Qty" dialog you may either type in the number of labels desired or you may use the up and down arrow buttons to increase or decrease the quantity desired.

Change Quantity of Multiple Labels: To adjust the quantity of all labels at once, select all items on the right-hand side of the screen by clicking once on the first item, then while holding down the SHIFT key, click on the last item.  Once a range of items has been selected in this manner, right-click anywhere within the "Labels to be Printed" list.  A pop-up menu will appear with two (2) options: "Remove Selected" and "Edit Label Qty".  If you select "Edit Label Qty", the same "Change Qty" dialog shown below will appear, but the quantity entered will be applied to  each of the selected items.

Choose the type of label to use

From the "Label Type" drop down listing, select the Avery® label that you want to use to print your labels.  The size and formatting of the information to be printed on the  labels will automatically be adjusted to suite the size and formatting of the label selected.

Print the Labels

Print List - When you are ready to print your barcode labels, click on the "Print List" button.

Cancel Print - Clicking on this button will close the "Select Item Labels to Print" screen.
