The left side of the screen displays a listing of your existing Customers, and their Outstanding Balances. These columns may be sorted by clicking on the column heading. To adjust the width of each column, click and hold on the column separator and move it left or right accordingly.
To add or edit information, click on the corresponding field and type the information.
Customer Name - This field contains the Customer's name, such as "Bill Smith".
Salutation - This field contains the Vendor's salutation, such as Mr., Mrs., Ms, Dr., etc.
Customer Company - This field contains the Customer's Company name, such as "Smith's Inc."
Alt. Contact Person - This field contains a name of an alternate contact for the Customer.
Phone Number - This field contains the Customer's phone number.
Alt. Phone Number - This field contains an alternate phone number for the Customer.
Fax Number - This field contains the Customer's fax number.
FIPS Code - (Optional) FIPS is an acronym for Federal Information Processing Standards. Each state and county in the United States is assigned a unique FIPS code by the Federal government. In a 5 digit FIPS code, the first two digits designate the state, and the last 3 digits designate the specific county within the state.
User Defined Code - (Optional) According to your existing customer tracking methods, this field may contain your customer's grouping number or keyword.
Resale Number - (Optional) This field is for your internal use. If the Customer is a reseller of your products or services, this field can contain the resale number for the Customer.
Credit Limit - This field contains the credit limit you have established for this Customer.
NOTE: When creating an Invoice for this customer, Y.E.S.!™ will not allow you to process a transaction (create an invoice) which exceeds the customers Credit Limit.
Email - This field contains the Customer's email address.
NOTE: Clicking on the blue word "Email" field title will enable you to send an email to the current customer.
Web Page - This field contains the Customer's URL, IP Address, domain name or web site address.
Payment Terms - This field contains the payment terms you have established for this Customer. To change or establish payment terms for the selected Customer, click in the combo box of the "Payment Terms" field, and select from the Payment Terms options.
NOTE: When creating an Invoice for this customer, Y.E.S.!™ will automatically apply these payment terms to the invoice.

On the General tab are also two check boxes:
Taxable - Checking this box will mark that the Customer is taxable. The default is taxable.
Inactive - Checking this box will mark that Customer as inactive and will remove that Customer's name from the list of available Customers in the Point-of-Sale program.
